New control technology for the Hinterglemm water supply
The Hinterglemm Water Cooperative (WGH) has been supplying drinking water to the village of Hinterglemm in Salzburg's Pinzgau region since 1958. Today, 16 springs from five spring areas are used to reliably supply the population, businesses, and visitors with fresh drinking water. The water is distributed to the various supply zones via ten elevated tanks.
To ensure the long-term operation of the plant, the control and automation technology was comprehensively modernized. Rittmeyer supplied the process control system RITOP, around 20 RIFLEX M1 automation and remote control systems with WebMI touch panels, and parts of the electrical, network, and instrumentation.
The modernization was carried out during ongoing operations and, thanks to the close cooperation of all parties involved, was implemented without interrupting the water supply. This means that the water supply in Hinterglemm will continue to be reliable in the future.
