Drainage system at the Rajamandala hydroelectric power plant
At the Rajamandala run-of-river hydroelectric power plant in Indonesia, the level measurement of the drainage and dewatering pump systems was modernized. The aim was to increase the operational safety of the plant and ensure reliable regulation of water levels.
The power plant is operated by Rajamandala Electric Power (REP), a joint venture between PT Indonesia Power and Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. The plant went into operation in 2019 as a run-of-river power plant with a capacity of 47 MW.
As the existing measuring systems were outdated and no longer working reliably, they were replaced with Rittmeyer MPA (4–20 mA) pressure transmitters. The open sensors are particularly suitable for dirty water applications and enable significantly more precise level measurement with a measurement accuracy of 0.25%.
